Inspirations for Anime

Anime inspires us to strive for betterment, satisfaction, and entertainment in the industry. Just as anime inspires us, it also comes from many sources and a collective mindset of influences. The influences are manga, graphic novels, videogames, Western comics, movies, card games books, other anime, TV shows, original concepts, and many more. Manga is the most popular source and usually has one-shots (one chapter then more depending on the reaction) like Fullmetal Alchemist Gaiden. Historian, Richard Kyle, coined the term for graphic novels (book-length comics) when he wrote an essay about Capa-Alpha in 1964. Videogames are animated playthrough content where the person has to complete certain tasks to finish it or to get selected features. An anime franchise that comes to mind is all the Persona anime projects based on the games of Persona 3 through 5. Western comics have established a large fanbase and is widely accepted alongside manga. Witchblade is a comic that was turned into anime and came from Image Comics publishing company. Boruto: Naruto the Movie was the first adaption of the Boruto Franchise in 2015 while the manga started in 2016. Bakugan has magnetic figures that pop out on metal cards with the goal to capture three Gate cards in 2006 before the anime. Howl’s Moving Castle had a book version by Diana Wynne Jones which Studio Ghibli made into an anime movie later. Supernatural: The Anime Series was inspired from CW as an American TV Show and explores season 1 and 2 of the series with interesting twists separate from the show. Gundam Build Fighters is a spin-off series from Mobile Suit Gundam where building models are a reality in the anime. Neon Genesis Evangelion is a classic anime and resulted from the original work of Anno Hideaki and Gainax.
