Funimation and Fanbase Scandal
Funimation wants the 30th anniversary of Dragonball to go out with a bang of a collectors box set of all episodes so far. The “Dragon Box”, which is the box set, would contain the remastered versions of the Japanese audio and possibly converted high definition video format on blu-ray. The announcement states that 2,500 emails are required to register on ordering the collection; however, this might not come to fruition involving Vic Mignogna and Funimation. According to Yellow Flash 2 on YouTube, the reaction of the Funimation’s announcement was not taken very lightly. Under the comment section on Funimation’s YouTube channel, there is approximately 500 users displeased either saying to reinstate Mignogna or wanting to boycott the promotion of The Dragon Box. The comment section gets out of control and makes the original announcement backfire from Funimation. I am not going to speculate on details but the situation involving Vic Mignogna is a bad omen for Funimation and its services. Whatever stance a person takes on the Mignogna accusations, there is the continuing protest to reinstate Vic. If Funimation does not relate to its fanbase about the issue, then there could be unforeseen problems concerning membership and revenue for the remaining year of 2019. If you want examples of the comments go to the website below or check the video at the cited source covered by Yellow Flash 2’s YouTube channel.
